  Our Mission
CBH improves the health of Maryland's children and adults by advocating for and providing support and technical assistance to Maryland community-based behavioral health service providers and their constituents. As a statewide professional organization of community service programs, CBH is dedicated to making high quality rehabilitation, vocational, residential, and treatment opportunities available to all persons with mental illnesses.
 Staff Development

The Professional Training & Development Committee is developing a series of trainings identified by our members. The topics will be: Professionalism (putting your best foot forward - one half day presentation targeted to direct line staff and one half day presentation targeted to supervisors/managers) ;  Communication Skills (proper grammar, clinical "language", writing strength-based contact notes, and "Netiquette"; Conflict Resolution; Nutrition (one full day adressing somatic, mood and medications and one full day on food safety, portion control, eating healthy on a limited budget); and Compassion Fatigue (formerly known as Burnout). Presenters are currently being recruited and a training schedule will be posted by June.

 Lending Library

Available to staff from CBH member agencies is a library of materials (videos, books, periodicals) to assist in developing programs, skills, etc. for your clients. The library is divided by topics (administrative, clinical, curriculum, skill development, staff development, social/recreation, vocational etc. In addition, there are articles from various sources available for you to copy. Materials may be taken from the library for a period of 30 days. Just like your local library, you are charged late fees and replacement costs if an item is not returned.

The library is available during regular business hours M-F (8:30am to 4:30pm) but it is highly recommended that you call first to make sure someone will be in the building when you wish to visit.

 Directions to Office

CBH is located in southwest Baltimore County. It is easily accessible from the Baltimore Metro area by taking the beltway (Rt.695) to exit 14 [Edmondson Ave.] Go west, (outside the beltway) to first light [Ingleside Ave.] Make a LEFT at this light onto Ingleside. Make a RIGHT at MELROSE Ave. (appx. 3 streets on the right). There is a large parking lot on the right. You may park here and walk to the corner building. We're the white one-story building at the corner of Melrose & Egges. We do not have parking on our property except for one handicapped spot.

If you're coming from the western regions its easiest to take RT 70 East to 695 and follow the directions above.

Those of you coming from the Eastern Shore would take Rt. 50 to Rt. 97 to Rt. 695.

DC area folks would most likely take I-95 North to Rt. 695
